People will be tasked with creating a piece of clothing, that must be modelled onto a runway, as part of the Robertson Potato Festival's Hessians on the Field activity.
Harris Farm Market Magazine editor and Australian Magazine Hall of Fame inductee Julia Zaetta will co-judge the event, and is excited about what people will come up with.
"I think I'll be amazingly surprised at the creativity..." she said.
The former editor-in-chief of Better Homes and Gardens and the Australian Woman's Weekly, said she would be going into judging "with an open mind", but was looking for certain things.
"The number one important aspect of Hessians on the Field is how startlingly wonderful do the models look in the outfit," she said.
Structural integrity and if clothes can be worn for events like "dinner or on a date" are also essential.
The clothes must incorporate 50 per cent hessian, and will be crafted and judged on May 1.
The parade will take place at 2.30pm where the Hottest of Hot Potato Ambassador will be crowned.
Designers can strut onto the catwalk themselves, or have a model show off their creations on the day.
Ms Priest said it is an "itchy and scratchy" material, but the event would be "exciting for onlookers".
Successful sewers of the ages 16 and under, and those who enter the open division category, will be awarded Singer sewing machines, and second and third place will be given a cash prizes.
The magazine editor encouraged people to think outside of the box, and see hessian sacks as more than "useful carrying thing" and to look around at home for other materials.
"A ribbon here, a button there and a little bit of bling, can turn a bag into something beautiful," she said.
You can register for Hessians on the Field on the Potato Festival website.
Some sacks will be supplied on the day or can be purchased in Robertson.
The Potato Festival will take place at the Robertson Showground 9am to 7pm on April 30, and 9am to 5pm on May 1
Tickets can be purchased on the potato festival ticket page, and more information can be found on https://potatofestival.com.au/home/.
