The former Mount Ousley boy has returned to the Illawarra to perform in the Sydney Dance Company’s contemporary work 2 One Another.
The performance, set against a huge screen backdrop at the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre, is the result of a collaboration between the company, poet Samuel Webster and Barcelona-born choreographer Rafael Bonachela.
Its soundtrack combines existing music with original composition while the screen flickers and flares, mimicking thousands of lightbulbs.
‘‘There’s a track in it that’s almost like dubstep, but there’s also beautiful operatic numbers which are quite heartfelt,’’ Bell said.
‘‘It’s fun to do [with] typical Rafael Bonachela choreography – angular and sharp.’’
The production includes 17 dancers and is at IPAC today from 2pm and 8pm. Tickets: $65/$60/$39. Phone 42245999.
