Bus death plunge: tour group tumbles 30m down Moss Vale Rd ravine

A tourist bus has crashed through a guard rail and careered down a 30m embankment at Kangaroo Valley, killing the male driver and injuring 20 others.It is believed the bus left Moss Vale Rd at 7.30pm, tumbling down the slope near the bottom of Barrengarry Mountain.Police from Shoalhaven and Goulburn Local Area Commands, NSW Ambulance Paramedics, NSW Fire Brigades Rescue, Rural Fire Service and SES volunteers attended the scene and found the bus driver deceased, believed to have been ejected from the vehicle on impact.As many as four passengers have been critically injured, while another 20 are suffering minor injuries. The most-seriously injured are being airlifted by rescue helicopter to hospitals in Sydney or Wollongong, while the other injured passengers will be taken to local hospitals. Moss Vale Rd is blocked from both ends, with traffic diversions in place for vehicles to go through Robertson.Police advise motorists to make alternative arrangements to avoid the crash site.Shoalhaven Police have established a hotline for people concerned they may have family or friends involved in the bus crash at Kangaroo Valley tonight.
