Highway truck crash: One dead

A female pedestrian has died after being hit by truck on the Hume Hwy.The woman was struck about 500m south of Picton Rd at about 3.15pm.Emergency services are on scene and are advising motorists to avoid the area or delay travel.The Hume Hwy is closed southbound at the Picton Rd turnoff.All traffic is being diverted onto the Picton Rd.Southbound heavy vehicles are being asked to avoid turning left onto Picton Rd towards Picton and instead turn right towards Wollongong.Traffic diversions will remain in place until at least 7pm whilst the investigation continues and the roadway is cleared.Police will prepare a report will be prepared for the coroner.
