Man charged with attempted murder of toddler

A Unanderra man will face court today charged with the attempted murder of a toddler.About 2.30pm yesterday police and NSW Ambulance Paramedics were called to a home after a girl was found in the premises unconscious and not breathing.The girl was also found suffering from a head injury and was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Wollongong Hospital.She was later airlifted to Westmead Children’s Hospital where she remains in a critical condition. A crime scene was established at the premises and examined by specialist forensic officers. A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene.He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he was charged with attempted murder and bail refused to appear in Wollongong Local Court today.The State Crime Command’s Joint Investigation Response Squad is continuing investigations into the incident.
