Disgraced Wollongong doctor Arthur Bosanquet, who pleaded guilty earlier this month to inciting a young patient to strip and perform a sex act, has been accused of committing a similar offence seven years earlier.
A former patient has claimed he was fondled by Bosanquet in his home as part of a bogus university study in 2000.
Adrian MacDonald, 27, was treated by Bosanquet, a respected oral and maxillofacial surgeon, for a head injury after an assault at a Wollongong nightclub in April 2000.
According to Mr MacDonald, who was 19 at the time, Bosanquet asked him to take part in a University of Melbourne study which involved taking blood samples before and after masturbation.
Bosanquet also asked him if he was happy with how much money he had and if he took drugs. "He then stated he would offer me $300 for my participation (in the study)," Mr MacDonald said.
"He told me there was no limit and it was sure money whenever I needed it."
Mr MacDonald said that in late 2000, Bosanquet went to his home to follow through with the "study".
According to Mr MacDonald, Bosanquet entered his room, told him to strip and removed a vial of blood.
He then tried to sexually arouse Mr MacDonald.
"He told me he had pornography on him and that he had injections which could help, but I declined," Mr MacDonald said.
During the meeting, Bosanquet asked Mr MacDonald to close his eyes and then tried to fondle him.
"I told Dr Bosanquet to 'f... off' which, after zipping up his pants, he immediately did," Mr MacDonald said.
Mr MacDonald's father, Chris, was sitting in the adjacent room when the alleged incident took place. He said he remembers his son yelling "f... off".
"Arthur Bosanquet then hurried past me and left."
The alleged incident bears similarities to one Bosanquet admitted occurred on May 4, 2007.
In that case Bosanquet, 54, of Jamberoo, pleaded guilty to inciting a person 16 years and over to commit an act of indecency. Bosanquet asked the boy to take part in a bogus University of Wollongong study which involved the victim giving blood before and after getting an erection.
He asked the boy to lie across his bed before he took a quantity of blood from his arm. The doctor then requested the victim remove his pants.
Police alleged at the time Bosanquet told the victim he had to get an erection before the doctor took another blood sample.
Bosanquet told the boy to think of things that "turned him on". The doctor then told the boy about a threesome he had been involved in some time earlier, according to the police statement of facts.
Bosanquet is due to be sentenced in February.
The NSW Dental Board has suspended Bosanquet for eight weeks pending an investigation. He also has been suspended from practising at Wollongong Day Surgery and in the public hospital system.
Bosanquet, through his legal representatives, did not respond this week to questions about Mr MacDonald's claims.
Mr MacDonald, who was a drug user at the time of the incident, said his life spiralled out of control after the incident.
"I felt betrayed and within a short period fell into a serious narcotic and tranquiliser habit followed by serious crimes," he said.
"I thought before, if I reported him, no-one would believe me. I know now that the truth does come out no matter how long it may take."
After the encounter with Bosanquet, Mr MacDonald's father Chris said he watched his son fall into a world of drugs and crime which at one point landed him in jail.
"Within weeks my son was taking hard drugs and getting involved in serious crimes," he said. "Had Arthur Bosanquet not targeted my son I wonder how different his life may have been."
