Rebels bikie charged over drug house: police

An alleged member of the Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang has been charged following the discovery of a large-scale amphetamines factory on the Far South Coast earlier this year.Police allege the 33-year-old man was applying for a passport in a false name in an attempt to leave the country when he was arrested at an Australia Post office at Hurstville today.Detectives from Strike Force Kook raided a property at Bingie in April, one of eight co-ordinated raids conducted across Sydney and the South Coast.They allegedly uncovered a large clandestine laboratory used to manufacture a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine, or speed.The man arrested today was taken to the Hurstville Police Station and charged with manufacturing a large commercial quantity of drugs, possessing fraudulent identification and obtaining a fraudulent passport.He was refused bail and is expected to appear in the Sutherland Local Court tomorrow.
