It was well and truly a white wedding for former Wollongong City Council general manager Rod Oxley when he exchanged vows in New York's Central Park.Mr Oxley and his bride, Sally Absalom, were married last month while holidaying in the United States. The pair, who have known each other for a number of years but began dating only last May, spent 10 days skiing in Colorado before moving on to New York for sightseeing and a low-key wedding ceremony.

  • I got treated like a leper, Oxley reveals
  • ICAC, Beth Morgan and my fight for justice"We decided prior to us leaving that we'd get married while we were away," Mr Oxley said."We've both been married before so we didn't necessarily want to have all the fanfare and publicity that would have come with getting married in Wollongong."Mr Oxley and Ms Absalom were married by a celebrant in a Central Park restaurant, where 150 diners certainly made up for the lack of official guests.
