Drivers on Macquarie Pass got a surprise when they spotted two skateboarders joyriding down the winding, treacherous highway.Jenny Sykes managed to snap pictures of the thrill-seeking pair, who risked their lives reaching speeds of up to 60km/h on Wednesday about noon.

I don't know whether they were brave or stupid."Ms Sykes said the pair appeared to be aged in their late 20s or early 30s and were kitted out in leather pants and jackets.Southern Region police traffic co-ordinator Senior Sergeant Andrew Palmowski said riding a toy vehicle more than one abreast on a road or in excess of 50km/h was illegal.Crossing unbroken lines on the road while riding a skateboard was also banned, he said."Obviously it's dangerous, regardless of the safety equipment they were wearing," he said."If they are caught by police they will be dealt with according to the full force of the law."
