Toddler struck in Gerroa driveway

A toddler has been airlifted to Sydney Children’s Hospital after she was run over in the driveway of her Gerroa home.Ambulance paramedics were called to Stafford St at about 11.30am today after reports a three-year-old had been injured by a car.‘‘Apparently the father got in the car to reverse it back, however he realised the young daughter was behind the car and has jumped out to get her out of the way, but as he did so the vehicle has rolled back,’’ Illawarra district ambulance Inspector Terry Morrow said. A wheel rolled up against the child’s chest, fracturing a number of ribsShe was airlifted to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.Mr Morrow said the three-year-old would undergo scans but was not thought to have sustained any other injuries.
