Chipperfield shocked the local football community earlier this month when he signed a short-term contract to join Tarra from early July.
It was then expected he would sign with an A-League club and play the remainder of his career in Australia.
But for family reasons, Chipperfield has been forced to cancel those plans and remain in Europe, where he will join a Swiss Amateur League club.
Chipperfield posted on Facebook ‘‘No A League for me. Asked the boys if I can go back to Oz & they said no:). Stay in Swiss & play amateur league & look for a job:).’’
When asked by a Facebook friend on his conversation wall if that also meant he would not be joining Tarrawanna, Chipperfield responded ‘‘Nah not now. Was looking forward to playing a couple of games. Especially against Dandy:). Yeh kids r happy.’’
