The NSW Waratahs set up camp on the South Coast yesterday and immediately started intensifying preparations for Thursday night's unique Super 15 double-header at Shoalhaven Rugby Park.Fresh off last Friday's 41-13 win over Fiji, the Waratahs will take on the Western Force in two separate trials, kicking off at 5.30pm and 7.30pm.NSW coach Chris Hickey is expected to use most of his second-stringers for the first trial, while both teams - featuring several Wallabies - will be at virtual full strength for the main event. The last time Shoalhaven Rugby Club staged such a big game was the NSW Country v Italy international in 1994.Pre-game ticket sales have almost reached 2000 and organisers are tipping at least double that amount to test the revamped ground's 5000 capacity.Shoalhaven club officials are confident of a successful night."A lot of thorough planning and preparation has gone into it and everybody involved in the club is very excited about getting behind it," Shoalhaven secretary Paul Dean said."We've got excellent facilities for players and spectators, an electronic scoreboard, crowd control plans, activities and other entertainment."The playing surface is in perfect condition. Our own maintenance people have been working hard on it and the greenskeepers from Worrigee ex-servicemen's club have done a fantastic job getting the ground presented properly."We expect somewhere between four and five thousand people and it should be a great evening of rugby."The Waratahs will be based at Nowra in the days leading up to Thursday. After a two-hour training session yesterday morning, they won a few more young fans with an autograph session last night at Shoalhaven Junior Rugby Club. They train again this afternoon before finalising preparations with tomorrow morning's traditional captain's run.Gates open on Thursday at 4pm and tickets can be purchased through the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre website.
