Similar highs are expected in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven this morning before a southerly change moves through.
That should keep the South Coast a lot cooler than inland NSW, which is set for scorching conditions during the next two days, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
"The Illawarra and Shoalhaven are among the more blessed parts of the state this weekend," senior meteorologist Julie Evans said.
"The southerly is expected mid-morning, although if that change is delayed - even by one or so hours - then that expected top of 30 degrees [for today] might turn into 35.
"Inland parts of the state will certainly experience very unpleasant conditions over the next two days with westerly winds keeping temperatures in areas like Bowral and Goulburn, high.
"Places like Bourke and Dubbo are set to have some dreadful days - with temperatures climbing to 45 or 47 degrees on Saturday and Sunday."
Wind conditions should be more favourable for firefighting efforts along the coast, particularly in the Shoalhaven.
"We're not expecting to see the strong winds, like those which occurred last Tuesday," Ms Evans said.
Milder conditions are expected throughout the region tomorrow, with a high of just 24 degrees forecast for Wollongong.
Temperatures are expected to remain in the mid to late 20s into next week.
