Unable to rouse her unconscious mum, the Warrawong preschooler dialled "zero, zero, zero" and summoned a rush of emergency service workers to her home.
Ms Stanford, 23, had been walking from the lounge room to the kitchen about 7pm when the family cat, Lily, ran between her feet and caused her to fall on her weak ankle.
She hit her head on the coffee table on the way down and was knocked unconscious.
Ms Stanford's partner Ben Dent was at work at the time and Miranda was the only other person at home.
"I said 'Mummy wake up'," Miranda said yesterday.
"I was crying because she didn't wake up."
Lake Illawarra police were the first to respond to the emergency call and, after being let inside the house by Miranda, placed Ms Stanford in the recovery position.
Ms Stanford woke with a concussion and was later taken by ambulance to Wollongong Hospital.
"I remember falling, then I don't remember anything else until the ambulance paramedics were there," she said.
"The police said they knew [I was in] Warrawong from the home phone but [Miranda gave them] the street name and number.
"I'm so proud of her. I'm really absolutely amazed that she acted so calmly under pressure."
Ms Stanford's mother was a heroin addict who died from an overdose when Ms Stanford was seven.
As a child she had dialled triple-0 multiple times when her mother wouldn't wake.
"It's terrifying," she said.
Ms Stanford said she had been teaching Miranda how to recite her address and "zero, zero, zero" since she could talk.
"I think it's really important that every person tries to make sure their child can give their full name, their address and call triple-0 if something bad happens. As much as we try and protect our children from things, you never know what can happen."
Ms Stanford saw a doctor at Wollongong Hospital and went home later on Wednesday night.
