Ms Pinkerton wants to win for Wollongong, which has not had a Miss World Australia entrant since the pageant moved from Sydney to Melbourne several years ago.
In the past the Illawarra has been well represented with entrants such as Katie Richardson, TJ Viney and Laura Thompson.
Ms Pinkerton has already enjoyed support from the Hotel Illawarra and Scarborough Hotel with fashion evenings supported by retailers such as Plume at Thirroul, Finbox boardstore, Sephora Women's Boutique, Events and Rip Curl.
She has also enjoyed the support of Glass By Design, Lauren Symons Makeup Artist, Pretty Swish, D'Va Hair, The Body Shop, Jam Woman, BarLissimo, Northern Blooms, Sea Salt Studios and many Keiraville stores.
Ms Pinkerton has also accepted an invitation to the next Illawarra Connection networking dinner at the Novotel Wollongong Northbeach on April 9.
Director Barry Wood said a focus of the April dinner was National Youth Week and The Illawarra Connection would promote the theme Be Active, Be Happy, Be You.
Speaker Sebastian Terry will draw on stories and reflections of his own "100 Things" journey.
Following the death of a close friend, he set out to do 100 things he had always wanted to achieve and he raised more than $90,000 in the process for Camp Quality.
This Sunday afternoon, Wiseman Park Bowling Club has made its facilities available for Ms Pinkerton's barefoot bowls day in aid of the Lilla Foundation.
Tickets purchased for $10 at http://barefootbowlsfundraiser-es2004.eventbrite.com.au .
All money raised goes to the Lilla Foundation to provide support to indigenous people in remote communities such as Lilla, Wanmara and Ulpanyali in the Northern Territory.
