There was further drama at last night’s Shellharbour City Council meeting when resident Sonya McKay handcuffed and gagged herself in protest against not being allowed to film herself while addressing the council.

Ms McKay was to speak about the financial update for the proposed City Hub but instead took the opportunity to stage a silent protest.
Recent changes to the council’s code of meeting practice meant Ms McKay was not allowed to film her presentation.
The council said members of the public gallery had expressed concern about Ms McKay filming.
After a debate, councillors allowed Ms McKay to sit silently for four minutes in protest before she left the chair.
Cr Peter Moran unsuccessfully moved to allow Ms McKay an extension in time.
