NAPLAN results available on My School website

The latest information on NAPLAN results, school finances and student enrolments for Illawarra schools is now available on the My School website.

The website, which was updated with 2013 data overnight, provides detailed information on almost 9500 private and public schools across the country.

As well as statistics on school funding and test results, it also makes available information on school staff, school expenditure and vocational education and training courses in high schools.

Since its introduction in 2010, the website has undergone several changes.

This year, a mapping function has been introduced that allows users to view a school's location and other schools nearby.

The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority, which publishes the site, has also improved the calculation of the Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage, which is determined using family background information.

Dapto High School principal Andrew FitzSimons said the My School website provided "another slice" of information to the community about what was happening in schools.

"Almost anything that adds to accountability is useful. I feel that's an important aspect of all schools, public and private," he said.

"The My School website gives community members an opportunity to add to their knowledge of each school."

Six years of data is now available at myschool.edu.au.
