8.37am BREAKING POLITICS: People earning more than $80,000 will be in the firing line if the federal government pushes ahead with a national debt tax, according to reports. News Corp publications today reported that the temporary tax, in a strategic leak from the government, would operate like the Medicare levy and cost earners on $80,000 at least $800 a year rising to an extra $8000 a year for those earning $400,000 a year.

The robbers threatened a female staff member before taking off with cash. Police want anyone with information to come forward.
