Illawarra bowlers battled rain but still raised $1000 for charity at Corrimal Bowling Club's popular annual triples tournament.
Many of the region's best bowlers were part of a capacity field filling 28 rinks for two games of 15 end triples.
Rain forced the second game to finish early, after six ends, with the Warilla team of Emelia West, Narelle Mushet and Leonie Barnett on top with a +28-shot differential.
The composite team of Pat Sheens (Corrimal), Robyn Herbert (Culburra) and Beryl Clark (Corrimal) were runners-up on +25-shot differential.
Fairy Meadow's Sandra Lane, Margaret Walton and Margaret Hayman were a close third on +21 shots.
Corrimal Bowling Club members also organised an excellent lunch plus other prizes and raffles.
The day raised $1000 for the Corrimal Ladies Charity Fund, which will be distributed to a worthy cause later in the year.
