A century to new Wests skipper Josh Hill gifted the Devils a perfect start to the Cricket Illawarra season.
Hill blasted 104 not out at better than a run-a-ball as Wests rolled defending premiers Keira by nine wickets on Saturday.
Keira had earlier won the toss and elected to bat first on a flat deck, but collapsed to be bowled out for a meagre 80 in less than 22 overs.
In reply, the Devils reached 103 before Callum Waldock lost his wicket to Darcy Crane.
Hill batted on until he reached triple figures but closed the innings at 1-154.
The new captain was delighted to start the season with such an impressive performance.
"We started a bit slowly but then got some momentum going and got the points on the board early," Hill said.
"But we were on top of them pretty much from the start."
Hill admitted he had considered ending the innings once the total had been passed, but wanted to give some game time to English import Olly Thompson.
The added overs also allowed the skipper to salute his ton.
"I think I got pretty lucky, I was a bit rusty early and just soldiered on," Hill said.
"It was a flat deck, perfect for batting."
Thompson enjoyed a solid debut for his new club, scoring 17 not out and picking up two wickets in three overs with his leg-spinners.
Meanwhile, Dapto opened their account with a convincing win over Wollongong on Saturday.
It was a run-fest at Reed Park as the Canaries batted first and piled on 6-283 in 50 overs after fine knocks from captain Dale Scifleet (75) and Greg Jones (70).
The Lighthouse Keepers set about chasing the mammoth total and reached triple figures just two wickets down, but were bowled out for 189.
Kendrick Hatton claimed sensational figures of 7-52 from his 18 overs.
Scifleet said Dapto's monster total was aided by the ground and pitch.
"The pitch was hard and flat, and the outfield was pretty quick as well," Scifleet said.
"It helped us out a bit.
"We were tied down a bit for the first 20-odd overs and then got on top of their change bowlers really."
