A German tourist has died after he fell off his skateboard while riding down a steep hill in Kangaroo Valley and slid into the path of a truck.

Police said the 29-year-old man was riding down Moss Vale Road, Barrengarry Mountain, about 11am on Monday, when he fell off and collided with the truck coming up the mountain.
 
The man received serious injuries and was flown to Liverpool Hospital, where he later died.
The 59-year-old driver of the truck was breath tested, and returned a negative result.
Kangaroo Valley appears to be a popular spot for skateboarders, with YouTube clips showing young men riding down steep hills and taking hairpin turns in the mountains around the village in the Illawarra area.
Police called off an "outlaw" downhill skate event there in 2011, the Illawarra Mercury reported at the time.
After the event was cancelled, a 19-year-old rider was seriously injured when he took to Cambewarra Mountain and slammed into an oncoming motorbike.
A report is being prepared for the coroner into the death of the German tourist.
