The defender had previously penned back-to-back one year contracts with the Sky Blues but will now remain in the harbour city until the end of the 2016-17 season.
He played an integral role in the Sky Blues return as a contender in the A-League in 2014-15 and was a starter in the club’s grand final loss to Melbourne Victory.
The good news came on the eve of Sydney FC’s marquee clash with English Premier League champions Chelsea on Tuesday.
Jurman was pleased to put pen to paper on a new deal.
“I’m very happy to be staying at the club for another two years,” the 25-year-old said.
“It’s the biggest club to play for in the Hyundai A-League and I’ve a feeling we are building something special so I want to be a part of that.
“Sydney is my home and this club feels like a family to me. There is a very good bond among everyone at the club and we are all ambitious to achieve big things in the new season.”
The next season will the Jurman’s seventh with the Sky Blues.
He won the Premiership/Grand Final double at Sydney in the 2009-10 before winning another decider with Brisbane Roar in 2011-12.
He has been deployed both as a wide back and in the heart of defence during his time at Sydney FC.
Sydney FC coach Graham Arnold praised his versatility.
“Matt has worked very hard to come back to full fitness and the results showed in his performances in the past few months,’’ he said.
“He is an excellent professional and his game is improving all of the time so I’m delighted to be able to offer him an extension to his deal.
“He will continue to be a vital player for us and I look forward to enjoying success with him in the future.”
Jurman’s deal comes six weeks after Helensburgh teen Aaron Calver signed a two year extension.
The future of Port Kembla junior Corey Gameiro is still unknown. Gameiro spent the bulk of last season on the sidelines with injury after setting the competition alight in pre-season and the early rounds.
