Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has decided congestion at the intersection of Lake Entrance Road and Pioneer now warranted the installation of lights.
The light are expected to be installed by 2017.
Shellharbour MP Anna Watson was pleased with the news.
“I drive along there every day and you can see the congestion, especially in the afternoons, is just getting worse and worse,” she said.
