Ms Cribbin and her children were in the attack zone just hours before the tragedy hit.
She had been holidaying in France with her children.
They returned to their hotel after touring the city on bicycles, when they learned of the attacks.
"The children and I are in Paris. We are OK. We are in our hotel safe," she said.
Ms Cribbin and her two children, aged 14 and 12, arrived in Paris on Friday.
"We spent much of the day today [Friday, French local time] in the area where the issues were tonight. We did a bike tour today and luckily we were back in our hotel by the time the bomb exploded.
The Highlands family had been watching BBC news to stay up-to-date on the issues. Rebecca said they were "a bit scared".
"We had plans to do some touristy stuff [over the weekend]."
Ms Cribbin said she and her family had planned to head to the Somme to tour the Australian war graves.
"We don't think that will be possible now unfortunately. We are a little on edge and just waiting to see what happens," she said.
Speaking at a press conference in Perth on Saturday, Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said there had been no reports of any Australians killed or injured in the attacks at that stage.
"There was one Australian citizen who contacted our emergency consular line," Ms Bishop said.
"He was in the vicinity of the attacks. We urgently made arrangements to locate him and I can confirm that he is safe."
Ms Bishop said that Australians in Paris should stay where they were and ensure they were safe.
"Please contact the consular number so that we know where they are and we can maintain a register of Australians in Paris at this time. The embassy is staffed, fully operational and available to assist any Australian in trouble," she said.
"No one will be able to travel until the state of emergency and the closing of the borders has been lifted."
For any Australians who have concerns for their loved ones in France, the Australian consular emergency 24-hour number is 1300 555 135.
Anyone overseas looking to call the consular to register their location should call +612 6261 3305.
