But, with her first two children being born prematurely, she never had the chance.
Luckily for the Wollongong mum, little Elle came along just in time and was among the last bubs to be born at Figtree late last week.
“It was so exciting, the best feeling in the world that we actually made it there,” an emotional Ms Murphy said from Wollongong Private Hospital’s brand new maternity ward, where she was transferred on Monday morning.
“It really has been a family environment, everyone has been so happy for me.”
The close-knit nature of the hospital was clear on Monday, as CEO David Crowe happily served up lunch to his colleague and her new bub.
“I almost didn’t want to go on maternity leave because I was going to miss the big opening day, but now I get to be here to share the excitement with everyone,” Ms Murphy said.
