The 33-year-old, who joined Western Sydney from Chinese club Chongqing Lifan in 2013, will remain at the ladder leaders until the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
He is midway through another strong season in the A-League with five goals in 12 appearances.
The Unanderra junior has crucially found the net off the bench in each of their past three games after spending a large portion of the first half of the season battling injury.
His latest strike helped the Wanderers snatch a vital 1-1 away draw against Melbourne Victory.
It paved the way for Western Sydney to open contract talks with the attacker.
“I'm delighted to have re-signed for a further two years with the best club in Australian football,” Santalab said.
“The club is still very young and has an incredibly bright future and I look forward to much more success in the Red & Black.
“Tony Popovic, my teammates, our passionate fans and the Club as a whole have put me in a position to improve myself as a player and a person every day, it was a very easy decision to stay at the Wanderers and I'm honoured to be given this contract.”
Santalab gave credit to the Wanderers’ coaching staff for helping to prolong his career at the top level.
