Jasmine O’Malley, 24, and Callum Taylor, 19, grabbed their three-year-old son, Cohen, and fled their burning Mianga Crescent rental property about 8pm on Monday.
The toddler accidentally sparked the blaze, which caused extensive damage throughout the house, while playing with a candle lighter.
Family friend, and creator of the Paying It Forward Wollongong Facebook group, Karyn Lewis said the community support had been “unreal”.
“We’ve got people coming to pick up some pictures that were damaged in the fire. I put a call out on the page and a few photographers are going to try and fix up the pictures,” she said.
Ms Lewis has teamed up with the people behind another Facebook page, Loud Pipes and Big Hearts, to help.
A call has been put out for donations of gift cards, which would allow the family to replace personal items lost in the fire.
