Parrys Raines, 20, of Foye Legal, has been invited to participate in intimate round table discussions addressing the connection between business and sustainable development goals with a focus on the environment. The discussions form part of the United Nations Global Compact Leaders Summit.
Ms Raines was recently appointed legal associate.
She has combined her law degree, community and ambassadorship to take action on climate change, building workplace sustainability and innovation within the legal profession.
Ms Raines was a finalist in the 2015 Australian Law Awards, Women in Law Awards and won the 2015 Future Sustainability and Leadership Award.
Foye Legal founder Diana Foye said Ms Raines was born in Wollongong and the energy, focus, commitment and innovation she delivers was contagious.
She thanks Illawarra Women In Business and the judges involved in recognising young leaders.
“If we want to see more young talented professionals stay in Wollongong, we need to get them to feel empowered, to help them get on their feet, and provide the opportunity for them to share their voice,” she said.
‘’I applaud Illawarra Women in Business for providing the awards platform in our local region to do just that.”
