As part of Law Week, the Wollongong Courthouse staff have taken the initiative to recognise that cyber bullying is an extreme issue in the Illawarra and have organised education sessions to give tips on keeping safe online.
There will also be first-hand accounts of how to deal with bullies and practical strategies that can make life easier for students and their parents.
Wollongong police officer Detective Sergeant Darren Kelly will be one of the speakers, along with police community liaison officers, guest speakers from Headspace, the Office of the Commissioner of children's E-safety and former St George Illawarra Dragons star Dan Hunt.
There are still spots open for Wednesday’s sessions in courtroom three, so any schools or individuals who want to take part can contact Jade.profilio@justice.nsw.gov.
National Law Week is an annual event to promote public understanding of the law. Programs are developed to include people from diverse backgrounds and organisations.
