Rural Fire Service crews from the Illawarra and Wingecaribee are preparing to fight the blaze, in bushland off Cloonty Road.
No property was under threat, said Illawarra RFS district services officer Col Church.
“We’re in the process of gathering more information about that fire and commencing fire suppression activity,” he told the Mercury, at 4.30pm.
