The woman collided with a car travelling south on Cook Street about 6pm Friday.
The car came to a stop around the corner, on Central Road, with its front windscreen smashed.
NSW Ambulance Inspector Geoff Senior said the 47-year-old pedestrian suffered head, chest and abdominal injuries, and multiple fractures.
She departed Unanaderra Oval in a serious but stable condition about 7.25pm.
Paramedics spent a considerable amount of time trying to stabilise the injured woman.
She was in a reduced state of consciousness when paramedics reached her.
Cook Street was closed to traffic as the woman was loaded into a road ambulance, which traveled the very short distance – about 300 metres – to the ambulance rescue chopper.
The accident interrupted a junior soccer training session at the oval and drew a large number of onlookers.
An under-8s coach was among the first to come to the woman’s aid.
The woman’s belongings were scattered across the roadway on impact.
