Emergency services were called to the Princes Highway at Bulli Tops at 3.10pm, following reports a car had hit a tree.

The driver, a woman believed to be aged in her 20s, died at the scene.

No one else was injured during the incident.

Officers attached to Wollongong Local Area Command are at the scene and an investigation into the circumstances leading up to the incident has commenced.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are urged to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
