From 10am every day over the long weekend the vineyards will not only feature wine but local produce and entertainment. The annual event has steadily gained momentum over the years and is now so well known that more than 10,000 people come to sample the local wine and food.
Coolangatta cellar door manager Ben Wallis said the event just kept getting bigger and was a testament to the quality of product in the Shoalhaven Coast wine region which was quickly becoming renowned as a food and wine destination. Rajarshi Ray, of Silos Estate, said the festival was evolving. People used to visit three or four wineries a day. But now more were booking accommodation and doing one winery a day. Many in a a group and organising their own small bus. The thing all wine producers have done this year is arrange more stalls, food options, art and activities. If the weather remains fine some are thinking up to 16,000 people.
Another popular spot is Two Figs Winery where Hot Potato perform their interactive jazz on the Saturday and Sunday every year.
