The 22-year-old swimmer will leave Rio with four medals including the full set of gold, silver and bronze.
Also returning with gold are Emma Tonegato and Nicole Beck from the Australian women’s Rugby Sevens team.
Also in action this week are Shellharbour’s Madeline Hills who has qualified for the Olympic final of the 3000m steeplechase, Ryan Gregson competes in the heats of the 1500m run on Tuesday, an hour after Jarrod Poort starts his 10km swim.
The Illawarra Academy of Sport’s Andrew Barrett said a civic reception was held near the Olympic Wall in Lang Park when the 2012 athletes returned and the academy will support anything the city decides to do when our 2016 Olympians return.
