Scheduled about two months after the homegrown Yours and Owls takes place on the October long weekend, organisers say the MTV festival will host up to 10,000 festival goers.
Three music acts have been announced so far – New Zealand rapper Savage, electronic producer Paces and kiwi electro-pop sensation MAALA, with more acts to be released soon.
Organisers say there will be “main-stage performances, delicious food stalls and bars, and a whole bunch of crazy activities you would only expect from MTV”.
The first Beats and Eats festival was held last year at Parramatta Park. First release tickets for the Wollongong event are available for $15 from mtv.com.au/beatsandeats
Visitors are also being encouraged to take up camping packages at Wollongong Surf Leisure Resort.
