The annual Garage Sale Trail encourages sustainable living by reusing and recycling, culminating in thousands of simultaneous sales on October 22.
One Austinmer seller Imogen Ross, going by the name of “Theatre Crafts and Performing Ponies”, has gotten four families involved in her sale where quirky items plus fresh lemonade and fairy floss will be on offer.
“Eclectic choices and unexpected treasures,” explains her profile on www.garagesaletrail.com.au
“We have a lifetime of collecting fabrics, vintage scarves, interesting shoes, nik naks and objet d'art (sic) to share with you.”
Last year more than 100 sales were registered in the Wollongong area alone, and more than 13,000 across the country.
The average household sale made around $300.
Windang’s Reddall Research will also host a Loot in Ya Boot sale while the Dapto Ribbonwood Centre will host a similar sale.
