An ambulance was called to a home in Old Erowal Bay around 9am to find the 21-month-old unresponsive. 

He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, where he later died at 10:15am.

Inspector Paul Hoyer said they were speaking with a number of people though could not comment further.

A post mortem is expected to be complete by Tuesday and will form part of a report for the coroner.
