Everyone is excited about what is waiting for them when they dock at Port Kembla at 7.45am on Sunday.
And there are many stories circulating on board about what may be waiting.
The Illawarra Mercury has already discovered more than 100 passengers on board from the Illawarra but there are also many Americans and people from around the globe and all parts of Australia.
Anyone in a Destination Wollongong and IRT Volunteer shirt is being asked many questions about what is going to happen and what there is to see and do in Royal Caribbean’s 501st port of call in the world.
Enthusiastic would be the best way describe what is happening on board the Royal Caribbean ship.
But no one is more excited than the ship captain Goran Peterson and the enthusiastic cruise director Steve Davis.
“This hardly ever happens,” Captain Peterson said.
“Of the ports I have been to for the first time I have not seen so much preparation before. And quite a few people in volunteer shirts have been sailing with us as well. I have had the pleasure of speaking with many and I can see their excitement. I can sense how pleased everyone is that we are coming. And that will make us want to come back as well. I see this as a big opportunity for us.”

Mr Davis said it has only happened three times in his career. “It is exciting for all our guests and our crew.”
“I’ve heard about everything happening at Lang Park for all of our guests as they come off the ship and about all the volunteers. It is great when our guests are given a warm welcoming feel. ”
