Jockey Jeff Penza believes Tim Martin has a talented filly on his hands with Natchwhali after the leading provincial hoop completed a winning treble on the three-year-old at Kembla Grange on Saturday.

After earlier notching up wins on James Cummings’ Passage Of Time and Godolphin’s Nonpareil, Penza arrived right at the post to help Natchwhali claim the Cancer Care Fund Maiden Plate (1600m).
“She an impressive filly,” he said.
“It was her second start in a race after she had excuses at Goulburn but I think the kickback in that race wouldn’t have helped her.
“She was off the bit and never travelling well where as today she jumped nicely and travelled well the whole race.
“She was slightly unbalanced on the turn but once she balanced up she hit the line really well.”
The sensational riding display helped Penza (90 points) go clear of Chad Lever (84) at the top of the Kembla jockeys premiership.
