A man has been charged with firearm and drug possession following a search of his vehicle at Mangerton on Monday.

Wollongong police pulled over a blue BMW on Myuna Way and spoke to the two occupants about 3.40pm.
Police searched the car and allegedly found a shortened .22 rifle, a magazine containing ammunition, and a small amount of drugs believed to be ‘ice’, cannabis and heroin.
The 40-year-old driver was taken to Wollongong Police Station and charged with possess shortened firearm, possess ammunition, and three counts of possess prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and will appear in Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday.
The second man was interviewed and released without charge.
