That’s British Conservative MP Paul Scully, not Wollongong Labor MP Paul Scully.
Confused? You’re not the only one.
The Australian politician fielded many questions from Brits – about everything from rubbish to fox hunting – prior to the UK general election on Thursday evening (Australian time).
“Over the last eight weeks there has been some heightened confusion on Twitter,” Wollongong’s Mr Scully said.
“I’ve had questions about problems with bins around Sutton (in south London) and in relation to some other Tory policies.
“I’ve been able to correct most people and they’ve been apologetic in confusing me.”
Mr Scully has forwarded the misdirected correspondence to the UK, where the other Paul Scully was Member for Sutton and Cheam prior to the election.
“The other Paul Scully MP and I have agreed that we are opposite in every way … but we have found that we have got a similar sense of humour in these exchanges,” the Wollongong MP said.
