The 27-year-old Corrimal man strapped on his corset and donned the sequins for the life-changing gig alongside famous drag queen Courney Act.
But since then, his alter ego Crystal Queer has undergone a complete makeover. A stronger, more powerful and independent woman has emerged. Meet Roxee Horror.
The name change came with Crystal re-inventing herself shortly after a long term relationship break-up.
‘’I wanted to start fresh and make this character with all my own input,’’ Roxee explained.
She has teamed up with drag sister Bree Vin-Amyl, who has been a major part in helping develop her look.
‘’She’s taking me under her wing, with makeup and wig nights almost every week,’’ Roxee said.
Bree is the president of UNITY: Illawarra & South Coast and Roxee has been doing frequent shows with the non-for profit organisation.
‘’I now do spot numbers at all of our dance events, co-host Backdoor Bingo and I have also taken on the role of radio presenter with the pink nation team,’’ she boasts.
You can catch Roxee every other Monday between 9pm and 10-pm, on VOXFM 106.9.
Roxee has also just done her first spot number in Sydney, at the Stonewall Hotel.
‘’The crowd response was amazing. I got great feedback and can not wait to do more in Sydney,’’ she said.
‘’I also have been auditioning for a few shows here and there, and things are looking promising.’’
Keep your eyes and ears open because Roxee Horror is taking the world by storm, ‘’one platform at a time’’.
