Dogs are allowed to roam and socialise at the parks while still under their owner’s control.
Facilities provided by the council include water taps, an agility course and biodegradable bags for collection of dog droppings.
South Coast Dog Training Club and Wollongong Wonder Woofs were on hand to help owners learn dog park etiquette and rules.
Council will also offer free sessions with South Coast Dog Training Club on Saturday, July 8 at Oak Flats and July 15 at Flinders from 11am to 1pm.
