The fight involving four men erupted on the corner of Centenary Drive and Douglas Street in Merrylands about 5pm.

A driver filmed the altercation, which was shared on social media.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said no formal complaint had been made but the footage was being reviewed and an investigation was under way.

The footage shows two men approaching a stationary car with P-plates and gesticulating angrily at the driver.

The driver, wearing a hi-vis shirt with the Allied Pickfords logo clearly visible - gets out of his car and the fight begins.

The men can be seen throwing punches and kicking at each other before returning to their vehicles.

One car does a U-turn and appears to attempt to park the second vehicle in.

The incident follows another road rage attack that unfolded on the Central Coast on Monday during which Newcastle mother Bianca Lee Sams was punched in the mouth by a male driver during an angry confrontation.

Ms Sams told A Current Affair she threw nails at the male driver before the confrontation because he was tailgating her and her friend, who was driving with a five-month-old boy in the ute.

"I threw them because I had to ... [it was] what I had to do to protect me and my friend," she said.

"We were both scared, We didn't know what to do. We tried swerving ... and he kept following us."
