The return couldn’t come at a more crucial time for the Stingrays, who still have hopes of bridging the three point gap to Macarthur Rams at the top of the competition.
“We want the premiership and think it is still a realistic option,” Stingrays coach Brett Wallin said.
“We are still very much looking for first spot and a top two would be imperative at this stage.”
To keep their title hopes alive, Illawarra must be a Koalas team which they beat 3-1 at home earlier this year.
“Koalas at their home ground are a much better prospect than away from home,” Wallin said.
