The theme from this year’s show was “Postcards”, taking the audience on a colourful tour to difference places and times.
More than 3000 student from primary and high schools in the southern schools region performed in circus acts, disco, folk, musical theatre, big bands, and a range of vibrant dance styles.
The show also included soloists, a large-scale choir, and orchestra and an indigenous dance company.
Students came from about 120 public schools as far away as Bourke, and the show was touted as the biggest show so far in Southern Stars’ 17-year history.
Organisers reported “very healthy tickets sales” ahead of the performances, with about 12,000 people expected to watch the show.
