The home is located at 189A Lawrence Hargrave Drive, Thirroul.
Agent Trever Molenaar from Molenaar and McNeice said although the property was likely to officially be listed on the market next week, there had been plenty of early interest.
"You can literally hear the waves breaking almost on your back doorstep."
Mr Molenaar said the single-level, three-bedroom home boasted spectacular panoramic views, and hadn’t been on the market for several decades. He expected it would sell for in excess of the $2 million mark.
“It’s just under a thousand square metres, and it’s got a private driveway,” he said.
“It comes in on Lawrence Hargrave Drive, but you wouldn’t even know it was there as it’s behind a gate.
“So it’s really private. In that little spot it’s the only one that has direct beach access, that access on to the sand. On your back doorstep, there’s a little deck, and you walk out on to the grass and on to the sand of Thirroul Beach. And you can actually see Sandon Point.”
Mr Molenaar said “the location says it all”.
“You can literally hear the waves breaking almost on your back doorstep.”
Mr Molenaar said they had already received plenty of interest from potential buyers from the Illawarra.
“I’ve already got offers on it,” he said.
“There’s professionals, there’s the Sydneysiders that have come down, so it’s a broad range.
“There’s a lot of people (looking) around that $2 million mark. That used to be the top echelon, but now the market’s moved there’s a lot more people looking in that $2 million-plus market.”
Mr Molenaar said it was still being confirmed whether the method of sale would be via auction or other means.
Meanwhile, offered to the market for the first time in 60 years, a Coledale beachfront home sold for more than $3 million earlier this year.
The home at 1 Cater Street, Coledale sold for $3,410,000.
Agent, Mr Molenaar said it was a landmark sale. “There’s only a few properties that have sold (for) over $3 million in that immediate vicinity,” he said.
“It’s one of only a handful of residential sales that have hit the market and sold over $3 million within a 5km radius of this area.”
