Waliscags Water Worx owner David Fraser said his newest venture is already making a splash.
He started work on the installation on Monday after interviewing 175 job applicants and employing 80 people in the last two weeks.
Mr Fraser received more than 300 applications for positions and his water workforce will start their Royal Life Saving Society training next week.
“There are two units of competency,” he said.
“One is called Perform Basic Water Rescue and the other one is called Supervise Clients at Aquatic Locations. They will train an hour in a classroom and an hour in the pools. We will do it in two sessions of 40 split up into two groups of 20”.
On Monday morning Mr Fraser was fencing the large 9000 square metre site at Dapto Showground ready for the large inflatable pools and slides to be installed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
“On Wednesday and Thursday we are putting the water in and Friday the filtration system gets installed,” he said.
Waliscags Water Worx inflatable water park will open on Saturday December 2 and will be open every day over summer apart from Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Entry is free for families and wristbands will be sold to those wanting to ride.
Bookings for tickets to the two hour sessions are recommended because numbers will be restricted to avoid queues.
All ages are catered for, including designated toddler zones.
And there is a kiosk serving coffee and light snacks.
Wristbands and family and party passes for groups of 12 or more can already be booked online at www.waterworx.fun.
Mr Fraser said the new park was new and different to other activities people do to stay cool over summer and thinks Waliscags Water Worx will compliment everything else including the beach.
Waliscags Water Worx is located on a large grass area on the M1 side of the showground in an area near plenty of shady trees.
The site is just 750 metres from Dapto train station and the is free onsite parking making it easily accessible.
