The 35-year-old was allegedly with two others when they stormed an address around 2:10pm on Thursday.
Lake Illawarra Police District duty officer Sergeant Grant Hughes said the offenders allegedly threatened three residents aged in their 20’s who were all home at the time.
“[The offenders] then decamped once the victims called police. A short time later police stopped a vehicle of interest and arrested that one male. He was charged with aggravated break and enter, with bail refused,” Sergeant Hughes said.
He said it’s not believed to be a random attack, although at this stage there was also nothing to say the parties were known to each other.
Police are still searching for the other two offenders with investigations ongoing.
