That’s why study will be front and centre during the holidays for the more than 77,000 students across NSW preparing to sit their trial HSC exams early in term three.
HSC In The Holidays will be held at the University of Wollongong for a 13th straight year this July.
The program on July 16 includes a range of subject-specific lectures across 18 different subjects.
Presented by highly experienced HSC markers and teachers, this two-hour seminar will help students prepare effectively for exams, provide a range of proven strategies on how to answer questions most effectively and help students reduce their anxiety to maintain motivation.
The information is relevant to year 11 and 12 students, although year 10 students are also welcome to participate.
HSC in the Holidays director Shane Hardcastle said the program has grown to be a huge success.
“We run this as a free service to give as many students as possible support and advice for the final hurdle of high school. The increased numbers we see attending each year is a testament to how valuable students find it,” he said.
Past state-ranked HSC student, Clayton McKinnon, describes the event as incredibly beneficial.
“The lecturers, many of whom are HSC markers, provide unmatched insight into the examination process,” he said.
“The advice that the HSC in the Holidays team provide is second to none. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.”
Mr Hardcastle said the HSC in the Holidays was the premier provider of student lectures, workshops and high-quality resources in NSW.
And it was the “only organisation fully supported and officially endorsed by the major NSW universities”.
“Our highly qualified presenters, recognised as the best in their respective subjects, help students strive for excellence to achieve the HSC mark of their dreams,” he said.
